AlienationPsychics should suffer for their abilities. Again, these aren't "cool powers" that you developed and now use willy-nilly to make your life better. Psychic powers are double-edged swords at best, and curses upon your life at worst. If you have a high Telekinetic skill, explain how your abilities going off have alienated you from their friends and family; if Telepathy is the focus, perhaps you find it hard to be around large groups of people due to the "noise" around you. While there may be no negative mechanical effect listed under a power, you should still RP the theme of the game, and part of that theme is that Psychic abilities have pushed your character away from normal society and set them apart, forcing them into the supernaturally rich shadows. |
Psychics are people gifted with enhanced mental capabilities such as precognition. These powers, unlike magic, are not inherited, instead these gifts appear at random, developing around the time of puberty. These gifts are also very difficult to control, causing the psychic more pain and grief than good. A psychic, with practice and experience, can learn to recognize a witch or inhuman being by their 'aura', an energy that is unique to individuals. WeaknessesWhile psychics are mortal and are open to the same dangers as a normal human, there are some things in the supernatural world that hamper and weaken them as well. There are also things, people and beasts that exist that can do them harm.
